Mintdesigns – Black Cinderella

To coincide with London Fashion Week, Pocko Gallery held mintdesign’s collaborative exhibition ‘Black Cinderella’, from September 13th to 27th in London.

The collection on display featured mintdesigns 2020 Spring/Summer, and debuted their first brand collection in the UK. Black Cinderella is a collection that can be called a sequel to Mintdesign‘s Fragile collection, which was announced 7 years ago.

‘Fragile’ presented a collection inspired by delicate products such as pottery and various glass ornaments. The sheerness and lightness associated with Cinderella’s glass shoes stand as a starting point for this exhibition. ‘Black Cinderella’ suggests two world views; before and after the magic, in an installation format.

This exciting presentation featured Mintdesigns 2020 Spring/Summer collection, and debuted their first brand collection in the UK featuring a bespoke textile created by Alessandra Genualdo.

Before the magic materials and techniques such as cork, wooden boxes, splicing, collars and embroidery are featured. The arrival of magic is then implied through glass, ceramic relief, transparency, lace, sequins, etc.
