POCKO Gallery Tokyoの周年を記念して、POCKO Japanは特別イベントを開催します。アーティストのジャコモ・ザガネッリによるトークと、ニコラ・シュワルツ監督のドキュメンタリー『Beyond a Place』の日本初上映を行います。
このイベントは、アートと遊びが人々をつなぎ、公共空間を活性化させる力に焦点を当てています。
In celebration of the anniversary of Pocko Gallery Tokyo, Pocko Japan is pleased to present a special evening featuring a talk by artist Giacomo Zaganelli and the Japanese premiere of the documentary Beyond a Place by Nicola Schwartz.
The event highlights the power of art and play to connect people and activate public spaces.

ジャコモ・ザガネッリとは
ジャコモは、アーティスト、キュレーター、そして「社会に向けた実践の起動者」として、多
様なかたちで活動しています。人々に向けたプロジェクトを通して、「公共」や「社会」とい
った概念を空間の観点から探求・再考しています。
主なプロジェクトに、MOCA Taipei(2017)、ウフィツィ美術館(2018)での個展、瀬戶内
国際芸術祭 2019、タイ・ビエンナーレ 2021、「森の芸術祭 晴れの国・岡山」 への参加な
どが挙げられ、国内外で幅広く活躍中。
About Giacomo Zaganelli :
Zaganelli works in a hybrid manner as an artist, curator and activator of inititiatives aimed at the collectivity. He creates projects addressed to people, investigating and challenging the notions of “public” and “social” in relation to the theme of space. Among his main projects are solo shows at MOCA Taipei (2017) and at Gallerie degli Uffizi in Florence (2018), the participation in the Setouchi Triennale 2019, the Thailand Biennale 2021 and the Forest Festival of the Arts Okayama 2024.
『Beyond a Place』上映 :
当日は、POCKO Japanの共同設立者であるニコラ・シュワルツ監督によるドキュメンタリー作品『Beyond a Place』の日本初上映も行われます。
本作は、人と人、人と環境を結びつける繊細な関係性を描き、共通の体験や帰属意識、そして空間が社会的なつながりを形づくるあり方を探ります。
『Beyond a Place』は国際的にも高い評価を受けており、Activists Without Borders Film Festival 2023でソーシャルチェンジ賞をはじめ、複数の映画祭で受賞を果たしています。
Screening of Beyond a Place
The evening will also feature the Japanese premiere of Beyond a Place, a documentary by Nicola Schwartz, co-founder of Pocko Japan. The film explores the subtle dynamics that bind people to one another and to their surroundings, reflecting themes of shared experience, belonging, and the ways spaces can shape social life.
Beyond a Place has achieved international acclaim, winning awards at multiple film festivals, including: Activists Without Borders Film Festival 2023 – Social Change Award
ニコラ・シュワルツについて：
ニコラ・シュワルツはクリエイティブディレクター兼キュレーターであり、ロンドン、東京、ベルリン、ミラノに拠点を置く国際クリエイティブエージェンシーPOCKOの創設者です。
Royal College of Artを卒業後、写真と映像インスタレーションを通じて身体と社会的文脈の関係を探求し、キャリアをスタートさせました。
POCKOを通じて、彼はRimowaやArmaniをはじめとする世界的ブランドやアーティストと協業し、グローバル規模でキャンペーン、展覧会、イベントをプロデュースしています。ヨーロッパと日本各地でアーティストブックの出版や展覧会のキュレーションも手がけています。
About Nicola Schwartz
Nicola Schwartz is a Creative Director and Curator, and the founder of the international creative agency Pocko, with offices in London, Tokyo, Berlin, and Milan. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, he began his career in photography and video installation, exploring the body and its social context. Through Pocko, he has collaborated with artists and global brands such as Rimowa and Armani, producing campaigns, exhibitions, and events worldwide. He has also published artist books and curated exhibitions across Europe and Japan.
